I have recently bought a 2018 Cayman 718 (base). Car had only 10K miles on it and price was good. I'm trying to learn more about PCM module and how to update it. A few RUclips videos I looked at pointed to pressing source and info buttons simultaneously to find out what version of PCM a Porsche has. What I'm puzzled about is that I don't have an info. button, just a source button. I snapped screen shots of my PCM screen and I am copying them below. Is there anyway any of you guys can tell me what version of PCM I have? Thanks Software version: MHI2_US_POG11_P4151 1097 Hardware version: 054 Navigation database version: blank Gracenote version: Region=NORTH_AMERICA - Version=12 Media driver version: CLU8_MMX2_PAG_NAR_G11_074PROD-1 Also, it looks like I can only update PCM software using SD card, CD/DVD disk or USB. That is a bit strange since the car is a 2018 model. I also have a 2015 Toyota with Bluetooth capability for updates. Is Porsche really that far behind in time in software download procedure?

Mine has V4.73 Would i need and update? I contacted my service department and they had no idea what i was talking about. I told them there is a service update for my PCM and the guy was like i see something on a forum about it but if you want to and there is and update it will probably cost $400.00. What exactly does the update do? there any visually noticeable?

Thanks for this! My 2013 Panamera Turbo is at the shop right getting a new Thermostat and Thermostat Housing. I wanted a glimpse into what that entails. Car only has 49k miles but I guess being 10 years old now it’s not unusual it needed replacing? My car was leaking coolant and overheated that’s how we found out. 😢

This kit should not be sold for DIYers. All of your videos are useless. You really need to read the written instructions. Besides there’s no videos for the actual wires and cables running back past the engine bay and if you have claimed to installed many Porsches, certainly you have many chances to take videos for documentation. Why would anyone choose to do this the easy way instead of the right way if this is going to be a permanent installation. Best of luck to all who bought this kit, and sorry for all who watched this video and wasted 15 minutes of your life here.

2:53 You can say it is not a cheap fix. My friend has a Cayenne. To replace a no-dollar coolant o-ring cost him $1000 to replace on his V8. I am glad I drive an Acura SUV.

Sometimes I wonder if Porsches should be water-cooled simply because 991s have failed water pumps and coolant leaks at the thermostat housing. And that at very low milage as in new cars.

Yep, seems overkill with the two stock filters. Can’t beat some extra intake noise. Nice job.

Not sure why but the cs carbon fiber looks a bit cleaner than the add-ons you have on the brake and around the dct...seems like it would match the carbon fiber of a M2C better

Have power steering fluid checked every 20k. This will save a lot of money and headache. The dealer won't look at it unless you ask. I put 80k on my 2014 RT and found out that my power steering fluid reservoir was almost bone dry and never has been checked. It has been serviced at the dealership since I bought the vehicle. Your steering will feel numb, rough and noisy when low. I was fortunate to only needing a flush at the tune of $260. You can do this yourself cheaper I know, but I was under a barrel and needing my vehicle asap. Hope this helps!
